Facilitated by Dr. Jason Field, President and CEO of Life Sciences Ontario, the panel discussion will focus on the following topic: “Demystifying the US Healthcare and Life Sciences Marketâ€. The panel members will provide insight into some of the challenges and opportunities faced by Canadian companies in the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors that are targeting the US market, including discussions on the regulatory and reimbursement environment, access to US & Canadian capital markets, clarifying how to set up a company in the US, and how to engage with US Health care Payors, Clinicians, and Hospital Groups.

Distinguished Lecture After years in big pharma, Dr. Martin Mackay moved to the biotech arena. He is currently the Executive Vice President, Head of Research & Development at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He leads the Research & Development organization in a range of disease areas (hematology, nephrology, neurology, metabolic, transplant, and inflammatory disorders).
